THE ZHANG SAN FENG FESTIVAL

The Festival is a special event offering an amazing experience to all who attend. That said, with so many choices available on our website, registration can sometimes be a daunting task. Here is a simple list of things to consider before registering.
 


GETTING AROUND
"History & Details"  page will give you the history of this legendary event and tell you what you can expect when you arrive. The "Quick Nav Guide" will give you a brief description of each page of the website. On this "Where Do I Start" page, we try to encapsulate what you need to know and consider in order to register as effortlessly as possible.
 
HOW TO REGISTER
You have two ways to register:
1. Go to the "online registration" section in the navigational panel on the left had side of this website and click on the "Festival Registration" button. You will then be taken to a online store where you can register for the Festival, pre-Festival and post-Festival workshops, as well as purchase your Festival T-shirts.
2. Go to the "download center" section in the navigational panel on the left side of this website and click on the "Fest Registration Form" button. A PDF version of our registration form will download on your desktop which will allow you to register for the Festival, pre-Festival and post-festival workshops, as well as purchase your Festival T-shirts. Print it, fill it out and mail it to us with your payment.

NOTE: Don't forget to bring a swim suit if you'd like to take advantage of the resort pool or hot tub! Don't forget to bring a drum (if you have one) for our Friday night drumming circle!  
 
TO JOIN OR NOT TO JOIN
The American Society of Internal Arts is a membership organization whose mission is to produce the best educational events available. By joining A.S.I.A. you become part of a growing family of enthusiasts who share a love and passion of tai chi, xinyi, bagua, qigong, traditonal Chinese medicine and all other facets of the internal arts. Members receive discounts on all our events. The more events you attend, the greater your savings! Remember, though - you don't have to be member to register for any of our events.


THE FESTIVAL
The first thing to decide is how much of the Festival you wish to attend. You may register one day at a time, or enjoy a package discount by registering for the entire 3+ days. We also offer a special "night owl package," designed to allow spouses, family and friends who are not interested in the daytime workshops, to still enjoy the evening activities. This package is ideal for those who would like to sight-see the Catskills by day, or simply enjoy the amenities of the resort while the internal artist in their life plays in the workshops.Those folks who register for the entire event, have the Thursday evening opening ceremonies included in their registration. Feel free to check out the listing of Festival workshops to see all the great stuff you'll be able to attend this year, and don't forget, our daytime prices are all inclusive of workshops and evening entertainment so you have access to our entire array of workshops for one low price.

T-SHIRTS
While you're registering for the Festival, you should keep in mind that the Festival T-shirts are ***"pre-order" only***, that is, they can only be purchased by ordering them on-line when you pre-register for the Festival. There are no Festival T-shirts at the event itself. Once you've placed your order, your shirt(s) will be waiting for you when you arrive. Festival T-shirts are "one-of-a-kind" with only a single printing performed. This means that each year offers a unique design, never to be seen again.

 
PRE & POST FESTIVAL WORKSHOPS
If you'd like a completely immersive experience, you might want to consider attending one of our pre or post Festival workshops, in addition to attending the Festival itself. These workshops allow you to study one subject, with one incredible master for a few days at a time. Placed before and after the Festival proper, they offer a wonderful opportunity to turn your Festival stay into a "one-of-a-kind" vacation experience.

FOOD & LODGING
Once you've decided how much of the Festival you'll be attending, you'll then need to decide where you'll be lodging and eating during the event. The Hudson Valley Resort offers wonderful deluxe food and lodging packages, allowing you to park when you arrive and stay at the resort during the entire event.

HOW TO GET HERE
Once you've registered, you'll want to determine the best way to get here. For folks coming from New York City, there is mass transit from Port Authority to the town of Kerhonkson, NY. From there its just a short cab ride to the resort. Driving directions are also available from all compass points (see website for details) for those coming by car.

THE RULES
You'll also want to see the rules page to find out prohibited items, and to find out what IS allowed (like photography) and what IS NOT allowed (like videotaping of workshops).
